After the hottest day of the year on Wednesday, the weather took a turn for the worse on Thursday as heavy rain and hail hit the capital.
With spectacular dark clouds and heavy rainfall, Brussels was transformed from a sunny paradise to a paddling pool, although those not caught out in the puddles welcomed the change from the oppressive heat.
For some, storms bring out a child-like glee, while others hunker down at home and wait for it all to blow over. Either way, today's violent downpour and the ominous clouds were an opportunity to capture some impressive images of the city.
