Severe showers and thunderstorms expected across the country on Sunday

After Saturday night's thunderstorms, Sunday morning will be cloudy, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).

A code yellow weather warning remains in place for most of the country on Sunday, while the RMI released a code orange alert  for the western part of Belgium.

Code yellow means people people should be aware of their surroundings due to severe weather conditions and expect possible disruptions. Code orange means that weather conditions could significantly impact people, property and activity in the area. People in affected areas should prepare appropriately for the anticipated conditions.

In the afternoon, the weather will be drier, with some sunny spells. Temperatures will range from 18 to 22 degrees. The wind will become weaker and then move to the west. However, in the eastern half of Belgium, near the Netherlands, strong gusts of wind are possible.

Sunday evening, stormy showers will affect the center and the east of the country, before veering off towards Germany. Then the weather will become dry in most regions, with sunny spells in Flanders. The temperature will range from 10 to 13 degrees, while the the wind will be moderate and head southwest.
