A few days after celebrating her silver jubilee, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has become the monarch with the second-longest reign in History, Belga News Agency reports.

She celebrated 70 years and 126 days on the throne on Sunday, equalling the record set by Thailand’s King Bhumibol, who died in 2016.

She still needs to remain queen for another two years to better the 72 years and 110 days spent on the French throne by Louis XIV (1643-1715). She will break that record if she is still queen on the 25th of May 2024.
